Dear Abby:
You are a very effective speaker. Your voice projection and body language is superb. You have a great big smile on your face and your voice has a positive tone. It's important for the speaker to be likeable.
Your attention getter was very effective and it grabbed my attention.
When putting together a powerpoint, try to separate the quotes on different slides with pictures instead of blocking them together. My eyes started to wander from you (the speaker) to the mass of words. Same with the works cited, while it is great you established credibilty with your sources, try to separate them on to different slides.
Your content was there. I enjoyed how you separated entertainment/news/media, etc... It was not a biased presentation, you showed us what was said and enforced your audience to form their own opinion.
Jon,
Some of the strongest parts of your speech was the way you involved the audience. You seemed to ask questions to get participation and this went along well with the demonstration online. Unfortunatly it was a rather small audience and probably would have worked better with more people in the room. You carried your voice well and avoided being monotone throughout the presentation. My only suggestions would be to be more physically involved. You used hand gestures well, but were towards the back and had space between the audience, making it harder to focus on you. The slides were done well with quotes and credibility, although the one with Roxanne was a bit scary.
